Must I be a resident or national citizen of at least one of the host countries in order to apply (Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, South Africa)? 

• Participants must have origins in one of the participating countries or be currently residing in one of these countries for at least 3 years.

• Participants must self-identify as Black and/or African-descendant and provide a video statement about herself. 

How do you define “woman”? 

• The competition is open to woman-identifying or gender non-conforming individuals. All applicants must identify with the experiences of Black women living in Brazil, Colombia, Kenya and South Africa. 

Will you accept submissions from teams? 

• Yes, however at minimum the Writer-Director and rights-holder must be a Black, woman-identifying person with origins in one of the eligible countries. Only one team member will be able to participate in mentorship opportunities and other benefits of the award.
